- @splittingred why not just make an all purpose tool that packages everything? For example, some of my templates need snippets.
- @splittingred what I want is a tool that can aid me in packaging anything. I've started to make one for evo that does that.
- @splittingred so, IMO keep the templatepackager simple and build something more robust for advanced folks.

- @splittingred for MODx on git, what branch should we use to develop on now that dev is deleted? Should I checkout 2.1, or make a new branch
- I think MODx is a Gentleman's CMF. I'm always amazed at the courtesy given in blog and forum comments. Hope it stays that way.
- @splittingred lol, yeah there it is. duh, and I knew that too....apparently I need to stop switching back and forth between evo and revo :)
- @amdbuilder hahahaha wish I could. I think all these evo sites I manage are going to be around for quite a while.

- @jrotering this one is better :) http://www.ted.com/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html
- @jrotering ha, yeah, I could waste all day listening to those.
- does anyone know if #MODx (evo) has a plugin for manager users that forces them to reset their password on first login?
- I love that with MODx you can program chunks, snippets, etc. in files with includes. I do as much as I can outside of the manager now.
- @novolodesign In evo, using includes makes your cache small, and can make your site faster is what I've heard. Sounds backwards to me.
- @novolodesign not sure about speed in Revo. But if you use includes for templates, you can use straight php in them. It's awesome.
- pleasantly surprised to see the RSS classes included with MODx Revo in /core/model/modx xmlrss. Thanks for including magpie :)
- so what's the recommendation for "website page file size" these days? In 2000 it was no more than 60KB, now 1MB pages are everywhere

- @drumshaman that's the code I was looking for - thanks!
- just realized there's no 'File Manager' in the #modx revo manager. Was this left as an exercise for the user?
- @tamersalama yes, but includes in any web application are a security concern. When programming them you need to do it with security in mind
- @mpool dude, that sucks
- finally, modx revolution is installed on my laptop. xampp FTW!!
- ahhh, notepad++ just ate my css. That's a first.
- been working with PHP for about 8 years & have never seen code with html php tags until today: <SCRIPT language="php">...</script> #redflag

- @drumshaman @splittingred - I installed Revo 2 b5 on my ubuntu box fine. I think my issues are WAMP related - thanks for the suggestions.
