About the Author

My name is James Ehly and I've been a web developer since 1997 when I got my first job as a web design student intern at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and instead of pursuing a career in the arts, I became a full time web designer. I've held various titles at different jobs since then: Multimedia Design Specialist, Web Developer, Creative Director, and now Programmer. All of that just boils down to a pretty well rounded skill set in web development that includes web design, php programming, flash animation, seo, 3D, css, etc. I have a tendency to get bored easily (both a blessing and a curse), so I've ended up teaching myself a lot of things.

I live in Lincoln, Nebraska, am married to my high school sweetheart, and have 2 3 4 kids, 2 dogs, and 5 1 fish. I've worked at home for my past two employers (more than 7 years now).

Besides teaching myself how to draw, and how to make websites, I've also taught myself how to play guitar, and currently play in the worship band at my church. Rock out with us on Sundays at 11:00am (10:30 in the summer) if you're in the area.
